Kia Soul to be Leader in Youth Segment

Kia Soul Production The all-new Kia Soul is shaping up to be a solid competitor to the Scion xB. As a compact and boxy vehicle, the Kia Soul features a bit of the original xB in its styling, although the Kia has a unique sloping roofline that provides a more distinctive look.

Although the Kia Soul provides a fresh take in this burgeoning youth-oriented segment, it has its work cut out for it. Recently, the Scion xB was updated, providing a larger, heavier, and relatively more curvaceous exterior than the previous generation. In addition to Scion, Nissan will soon offer yet another competitor as it is set to release the Cube, a boxy compact that should arrive in at Manchester CT Nissan dealers and in other showrooms soon.

The upcoming Kia Soul has already made its rounds at various auto shows, and Philadelphia Kia says it has successful garnered plenty of attention for its youth oriented image. With ample opportunities for Kis Soul buyers to customize their vehicle, drivers can easily put their own touches on the vehicle in a way that is also found on Scion models.

Kia is marketing the Soul towards those who are “young-at-heat” regardless of their actual age according to Kia New Mexico. Interestingly, Kia may not target the youth segment quite as hard as Scion since there are plenty of xB drivers that are above the age of 40. But between the updated Scion xB and the upcoming Nissan Cube, it will be an interesting battle between these niche compact crossovers.
